Dining news: Table fifty-two; Valentine's Day specials

—Table fifty-two, 52 W. Elm St., has announced a new Sunday supper menu, available 10 a.m.-5 p.m.. The down-home, upscale menu still features Chef Art Smith's famous fried chicken and waffles along with items such as breakfast pizza with with sausage gravy, bacon, cheddar cheese and fried egg; crab cake Benedict; brick-oven macaroni and cheese; and Southern-fried catfish. —Devon Seafood Grill, 39 E. Chicago Ave., will offer a special Valentine's Day dinner on all weekend Friday, Feb. 13-Sunday, Feb. 15. Devon is offering a one-pound lobster tail or 14-ounce bone-in filet with two seasonal sides (such as potato-sage gratin, lobster mac n'cheese, creamed kale with bacon and more) for $58 per person, plus tax and gratuity. —The Kitchen, 316 N. Clark St., is offering a four-course, prix fixe Valentine's Day menu for $75/person. Among some of the choices are cauliflower soup, black truffle tagliatelle, pan-roasted quail, dry-aged ribeye and vanilla pound cake. See thekitchen.com/ .

—Filini Bar & Restaurant, 221 N. Columbus Dr., offers a creative, untraditional way to spend Valentine's Day with a special "Seven Deadly Sins" menu. Guests are invited to discover their sultry side while savoring the flavors of lust, envy, wrath, gluttony, greed, pride and sloth. Among the available items will be oysters, tuna and yellowfin crudo (lust); grilled shark with chili oil and blood orange (wrath); and macaroons with chocolate covered raspberries, passion fruit sorbet, and frozen beet foam (sloth). —The Italian restaurant 312 Chicago, 136 N. LaSalle St., is offering a four-course "Menu di San Valentino" prix fixe dinner by Executive Chef Luca Corazzina on Valentine's Day. —Bar Pastoral, 2947 N. Broadway, will offer a la carte Valentine's specials throughout the holiday weekend (Friday-Sunday, Feb. 13-15). Highlights include a cheese plate featuring Brillat Savarin (soft cow's milk cheese) with almond palmier "hearts" and frisee with champagne vinaigrette and cherry balsamic reduction. —Lake View-based Paired Wine Co. is inviting everyone to attend the celebration of its second year in business, providing fine wines to the community on Feb. 14 (Valentine's Day). The day-long celebration will take place at Paired Wine Co.'s retail location at 3325 N. Halsted St. The event is free to attend, but guests and couples are asked to RSVP at info@pairedwine.com for the special reception 7-10 p.m., as the first 100 people to do so will receive a gift.

—Homewood restaurant The Cottage on Dixie, 18849 Dixie Hwy., is offering a Valentine's Day menu. The four-course dinner includes items such as Waldorf salad, cottage-baked oysters, grouper Florentine, exotic mushroom ravioli and smoked salted caramel pudding, among others. The price is $70/person, not including tax or gratuity. Reservations are required; call 708-798-8263.

—On Feb. 14-21, El Ideas, 2419 W. 14th St., will feature dishes with To'ak Chocolate. Among the items are duck with To'ak, limequat and five spices; and sweet potato with To'ak, coffee, cinnamon and olive oil. The price is $145, plus tax and service charge. —Twisted Spoke, 501 N. Ogden Ave., will host the annual Wicker Dog Park Fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 14, 7-10:30 p.m. (Dogs are not allowed at the bar.) Drinkers can share their love for dogs with every pint purchased from a special keg that Three Floyds Brewing donates. Attendees can also participate in a silent-auction bidding war where they can test their luck with a 50/50 pot raffle split. Call 312-666-1500.

—Hotel news: Hotel Lincoln, the 184-room Joie de Vivre hotel at 1816 N. Clark St., will release 12 rooms priced at one cent to guests calling into the Lucky Lincoln Hotline at 312-212-4022 to celebrate Abraham Lincoln's birthday. Calls will be accepted until 11 a.m. on Feb. 12 or until the reservations are booked. Only the first 12 callers will receive a penny-room rate, which can be booked for an overnight stay from Sunday, Feb. 13 through Tuesday, March 31.

—Industry Brunch will take place on Mondays at MAX's Wine Dive, 1482 N. Milwaukee Ave., starting Feb. 16. Every Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be items such as French onion croque Madame and pork chilaquiles . Visit www.MaxsWineDive.com/Chicago.

—Asura Cabernet Sauvignon is now being offered, and its distributed by Grilos International in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. The wine, which received a number-one rating from Cigar & Spirits Magazine, retails for $469 a bottle; only 3,000 bottles were produced for the first limited release. —Shaw's Crab House Chicago will be letting the good times roll during Mardi Gras 2015. The five-day celebration begins Monday, Feb. 16, with New Orleans specials, festive cocktails and live music in the Oyster Bar. Specials include oyster and shrimp po' boys, crawfish etouffee, jambalaya and seafood gumbo, among others. A Louisiana crawfish boil will be served on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 17, and will feature one and a half pounds of Louisiana Crawfish plus red potatoes, andouille and corn on the cob ($30). —The Chicago Academy for the Arts will host "A Taste for the Arts" gala at the Harris Theater and Millennium Park Terrace Tuesday, May 12, at 6 p.m. This evening, hosted by Donna LaPietra and Bill Kurtis, will feature a performance by the emerging artists of the academy alongside the cuisine chefs such as Curtis Duffy (Grace), Matthew Kerney (Longman & Eagle) and Tony Priolo (Piccolo Sogno/Piccolo Sogno Due). —River Roast, 315 N. LaSalle St., has introduced Meaty Mondays, when diners who purchase any roast will receive a complimentary charcuterie board sampler from Executive Chef John Hogan. The restaurant has variations like wild boar and fig terrine, duck confit and foie gras terrine, duck prosciutto, rabbit mousse and more.

—Chefs John Manion and Mark Steuer announce the La Colombe Takeover at La Sirena Clandestina, 954 W. Fulton Market, a special brunch collaboration with the specialty coffee roaster on Sunday, Feb. 22, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The a la carte menu features everything from coffee and oxtail marmalade to espresso yogurt. Reservations are highly suggested, and may be made by visiting www.lasirenachicago.com or by calling 312-226-5300.

—The 16th Chicago's Best WingFest will take place Feb. 22 at Bailey Auditorium, 1340 W. Washington St., 1-5 p.m. WingFest has tailgating, wings from 25 area restaurants, competitive wing-eating, six categories of competition and more. Funds raised will benefit Chicago Neighbors United. —On Saturday, Feb. 28, the Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (IRAEF) will welcome 13 culinary teams and eight management teams composed of high school ProStart students from across the state to compete in the 14th Annual Illinois ProStart® Invitational. The event will occur at McCormick Place, 2301 S. Lake Shore Dr., 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

—The sixth annual Taste of the Gold Coast will take place Wed., March 4, 6-8 p.m., at the Gold Coast FFC (Fitness Formula Club), 1030 N. Clark St. Participating restaurants include Cape Cod, mEAT, Devon Seafood Grill, Roy's Restaurant, and Glazed and Infused, among others. Admission is $60; visit www.raymiproductions.com .
