Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s social justice ministries and legacies. A panel moderated by Kim L. Hunt, will include Avery R. Young, John Adewoye, Rev. Dr. Danielle Buhuro, and Rev. Benjamin Ledell Reynolds.

National Day of Service for the Inauguration

The Presidential Inaugural Committee ("PIC") will host a National Day of Service for the Inauguration of President-Elect Biden and Vice President-Elect Harris in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Organizations across the country will host service events that focus on COVID-19 relief and address challenges that have been exacerbated by the pandemic.

Grief and Loss, Center on Halsted group

Everyone experiences grief and loss in their own unique way, and grief can be an isolating experience. This group is a space for LGBTQIA+ individuals to process the loss of a loved one through death. Emphasis will be on community building, and will encourage participants to share ideas, thoughts and feelings about the grief process. By emphasizing the power of community, members will explore their own forms of resilience and methods of remembering their loved ones in group meetings. Also explored will be the unique challenges that the pandemic has created for grieving group members. Email behavioralhealth@centeronhalsted.org

Chicago Sinfonietta Annual MLK Tribute Concert

Programming will take place January through March with video content and activities leading up to the rescheduled MLK Tribute "The Arc" Virtual Premiere Concert, on Sunday, March 28 at 3 p.m. CST commemorating MLK's historic Selma to Montgomery March in a celebration of diversity and the values of freedom, friendship,and peace.
