Host: Amy Matheny with Kelli Simpkins
Amy and Kelli are swinging on their front porch for this Queercast. They dish on all the news hitting the waves about the gays including the farmers gettin' hitched and the US House passing the Matthew Shepard Act. Also, they went and saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch, what did they think?
Guest: Lesbian Writer/Director Megan Carney sits and talks with Amy about her history with About Face Theatre and co-founding their youth program. Megan also shares her teaching experience at Virginia Tech during the historic shootings. Her latest play, The Walls, is now running at the Steppenwolf Garage, which explores the lives of women in three different time periods through a woman's struggle to both honor and escape her artist mother's dual legacy of fearless self-expression and psychosis.
