Wil Brant is no longer executive director of Gerber/Hart Library and Archives.
According to an open letter from board co-chairs James Conley and Kevin Nunley as well as Board Treasurer Becky Chmielewski, Brant "served in this role for [six] years, and was a volunteer for many years before that. We are grateful for his dedication to the organization, especially seeing Gerber/Hart through the recent, uncertain pandemic years."
The letter added that the next step involves appointing an interim operations director, also stating "the Board of Directors is examining the Gerber/Hart budget and is reimagining the positions and structure of the organization."
Founded in 1981, Gerber/Hart Library and Archives seeks to preserve and make accessible the history and culture of the LGBTQ+ communities in Chicago and the Midwest in order to advance the larger goal of achieving justice and equality.
