Hotels in Chicago were among those honored in Travel + Leisure's annual best-of lists, with readers serving as voters.

In the list of the top 100 hotels in the world, Viceroy Chicago (in the city's Gold Coast) was the only local spot to make the list; it tied for 51st with The Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur, India. Kenya's Mahali Mzuri, in Masai Mara, took the top spot; Costa Rica's Nayara Tented Camp (in Arenal Volcano National Park) and Beijing's The Opposite House took second and third, respectively.

Also, Viceroy Chicago topped The Top 15 City Hotels in the Continental U.S. list.

Three hotels from The Langham Hotels & Resorts global portfolio—including The Langham, Chicago—were recognized among the best in the world by the publication's readers. The Langham, Chicago, was named #6 on The Top 15 City Hotels in the Continental U.S. list and placed second on the the Top 10 Hotels in Chicago list.

Viceroy and The Langham led the way for the top 10 Chicago hotels. Others on the list (starting at number three) included Virgin Hotels Chicago, The Peninsula Chicago, Park Hyatt Chicago, Thompson Chicago, Hotel Zachary, Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile, The Drake and Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile.

In addition, Deer Path Inn—in Lake Forest, Illinois—made The Top 15 Resort Hotels in the Continental U.S. list, landing at number seven.
