Media is dynamic, ever changing and evolving. In contrast, the fight to for LGBT civil rights has remained constant, making modest advancements, culturally, and far fewer on a policy level.
In The Life Media, producer of IN THE LIFE, the only American broadcast series documenting the lives and issues shaping the gay experience for the past 17 years, unveils its plans to become the media production organization for the LGBT movement during its Season Premiere Gala, Thursday, October 15 at The Rubin Museum of Art ( RMA ) .
"Has the LGBT community made progress since Stonewall? Yes," Michelle Kristel, ITLM Executive Director, said. "But, if we are to realize true equality, we must harness the power of video to inform and inspire."
NAACP Chairman, Julian Bond, and Emmy Award-winning, Academy Award-nominated actress Patricia Clarkson, both, outspoken advocates for LGBT equality, will be honored with the Pioneer and Producing Change Awards, respectively.
