Fields Auto Group of Glencoe has moved its Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, RAM dealership in Northfield to the "Glen" in Glenview.
The new location, at 2800 Patriot Blvd. in Glenview, will be one of the largest Chrysler, Jeep,Dodge, RAM dealerships in Chicagoland.
Among the new features in the new 43,000-square-foot facility are:
—A larger showroom for optimum vehicle purchasing and to hold after-hours events;
—A Route 66-themed complimentary snack bar in the lounge that will serve a full array of gourmet coffee, teas, spa water, an ice cream & yogurt bar, fresh popcorn, bagels and various fruit;
—A business center and kids' playroom; and
—An electronic customer notification wall that tracks and reports the status of where a person's car is in the process of being serviced.

—Hersey scholarship: The Chicago Auto Trade Association ( CATA ) announced a $1,000 scholarship available to John Hersey High School seniors to honor school alumna and long-time NBC Chicago Special Events Director Carol Cooling, who passed away late last year after a battle with cancer. —Lone support: Ford Motor Company was the only major U.S. corporation sponsoring the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City, according to The Huffington Post. Other big corporate sponsors, including Guinness and Heineken, dropped the parade after a public outcry over the organizers' rule that barred LGBT groups from openly participating. Also, the city's new mayor, Bill de Blasio, refused to take part in the event over the same policy.
—Recall: Fiat Chrysler is recalling 18,000 new 500L cars because there may be problems shifting them out of park, according to CBS Detroit. They were built between April 2013 and January 2014. Chrysler said it had more than 100 reports of problems, but no crashes or injuries.
—Job additions: Chrysler also announced that it has added some 800 new jobs at its Sterling Heights Assembly Plant ( SHAP ) to support the production of its all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan, according to Autoblog. Total employment at the Sterling Heights, Mich., plant grows to almost 2,800 with the hires, what some have called an impressive figure for a plant that was slated for closure in 2010.
—Saucy attack: In the United Kingdom, police in Shropshire are investigating anti-gay messages written in brown sauce that were left all over a vehicle, according to a Pink News item. Express and Star reported the wing-mirrors were also smashed off the car, identified as a Renault, causing hundreds of pounds of damage.
—Settling: Toyota has reached a deal with the Justice Department to settle a four-year criminal investigation into whether the company misled investigators and the public about a sudden-acceleration defect that has caused injuries and deaths, according to The New York Times. The settlement—for $1.2 billion, among the largest ever paid by an automaker—included an unusual admission of wrongdoing by the company.
