Former 'NSYNC member Lance Bass and Reichen Lehmkuhl have broken up, in an item originally reported by PerezHilton.com . ( Bass' publicist, Cindy Owen, later confirmed the split. ) The site noted that Lehmkuhl was initially unaware of the announcement.
The Trevor Project, which operates a suicide prevention hotline for gay youth ( 866-488-7386 ) , recently held its ninth annual Cracked Christmas comedy fundraiser in Los Angeleswhich marked the first appearances of T.R. Knight ( Grey's Anatomy ) and Neil Patrick Harris ( How I Met Your Mother ) since they separately came out, USA Today noted. The two avoided press interviews, with Harris ( who separated from his boyfriend upon arriving at the event ) explaining that his 'highly paid PR firm' told him to 'lay low for a while.'
Singer-actress Beyonce Knowles told gay magazine Instinct that her gay uncle made her turn her back on stereotypes and embrace gays, 247gay.com reported. 'I was raised by my uncle who passed away with AIDS a couple of years ago. ... He helped me buy my prom dress. ... He was my favorite person in the whole world,' she said. Knowles added that religion never made her turn against the gay and lesbian community.
Gay fashion designer Tom Ford, former creative director of Gucci, is starting a retail business, Outonthenet.com reported. Ford has chosen New York City for the location of his new store, which will open in the spring of 2007, and will feature his brand of menswear.
Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson is trying to stop rumors that she has a problem with gay people, IMDB.com reported. The former American Idol finalist has hit back at remarks attributed to her in a Dallas newspaper in which she supposedly called homosexuality 'a sin.' Hudson posted a message on her MySpace page that read, in part, 'Anybody that knows me, knows that [ it ] just ain't true [ that I have a problem with gay people ] . It makes me so mad that people can twist your words and say anything they want.'
Audrey Hepburn's iconic black dress from 1961's Breakfast at Tiffany's fetched $807,000 at an auction, CNN reported. Proceeds from the sale will go to the charity City of Joy Aid, which helps India's poor.
