Chicagoans and visitors flocked to Pride in the Park, the downtown annual celebration in support of the LGBTQ+ community, on June 23-24.
For the fourth year, entertainment company Dreambrite Presents created the festivities, which took place in a large fenced-off area at Butler Field on South Lake Shore Drive and East Monroe Street. The proud organization presented over 30 performers, among them Zedd, Saweetie, Zara Larsson and Years & Years, among others. Circuit MOM Productions captivated the audience with various performances and host duties.
Drag artist appearances over the weekend were by RuPaul Drag Racer Utica Queen, Sheeza Woman and Miss Toto. Popular mixmasters covered the tunes as well, among them DJ Lady D, DJ Mohammad and DJ Ca$h Era.
Pride in the Park this year focused on one stage instead of multiple arenas, as it had done previously; that allowed for additional vendors and participants, who ranged from purveyors of cannabis supplies to a dog rescue tent. Harold's Chicken was just one of the food vendors, while Stoli Vodka brought out the beverages.
Sponsors included AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Fairmont Chicago and many more. For future information on the festival's plans for 2024 visit prideparkchi.com .
