—In recognition of Veterans Day, Municipal, 216 W. Ohio St., will offer veterans 50 percent off their bills; this includes active, former or retired military. —On Wed., Nov. 11, The Florentine ( in the JW Marriott at 151 W. Adams St. ) will celebrate its fifth birthday with complimentary birthday cake petit fours at both lunch ( 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. ) and dinner ( 5-10 p.m. ).

—On Thursday, Nov. 12, LuxeHome, in partnership with Wine Spectator Magazine, presents the ninth annual CHILL: an International Wine & Culinary Event. Proceeds from LuxeHome CHILL will directly benefit the local programming ofThe Lynn Sage Foundation, Saturday Place and the Respiratory Health Association. —During November, DMK Burger Bar, 2954 N. Sheffield Ave., invites guests to roll up their sleeves for a Thanksgiving-inspired burger with the return of The Gobbler. The Gobbler comes chock-full of all the classic holiday fixings, with two juicy turkey patties, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and celery, and is topped off with housemade cranberry relish.

—More than 2,700 restaurants have failed health inspections in 2015 between Jan. 1 and Oct. 27, according to a CBS Chicago report. ( That was out of about 15,000 total inspections. ) However, the report advised to take the results with a grain of salt, as most of the failures were easily corrected. —May St. Cafe, 1146 W. Cermak Rd., is offering a $25 prix fixe fall special. —Meals on Wheels Chicago ( MOWC ) will be hosting 60 of Chicago's chefs and more than a dozen mixologists at its 27th annual Celebrity Chef Ball on Friday, Nov. 13, 6 p.m.-12:30 a.m., at Morgan Manufacturing, 401 N. Morgan St. In addition to tastings, guests will also enjoy a silent auction, photo booth and more. —The Signature Room at the 95th ( in the John Hancock Building ) is hosting an all-inclusive bourbon dinner, hosted by Beam Suntory's Matt Obermark, on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. Executive Chef Cardel Reid is dishing out a four-course gourmet dinner paired with a selection of top-notch bourbon cocktails—and each guest will leave with a gift bad that includes Knob Creek Single Barrel Bourbon. —Cafe Spiaggia ( 980 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 2 ) will host a one-night-only Thanksgiving feast on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with dishes made entirely of gelato or sorbetti. The menu, curated by Pastry Chef Melanie Diamond-Manlusoc, will feature sweet renditions of classic Thanksgiving dishes, including turkey with sage pizzelle, sweet potatoes and marshmallow, Brussels sprouts, green-bean casserole and spiced cranberry sauce. —Frontier, 1072 N. Milwaukee Ave., is closed on Thanksgiving Day but Executive Chef Brian Jupiter will offer guests the option to order whole smoked Amish Turkeys To-Go which are available for pick up on Thanksgiving Day from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Orders must be placed by Nov. 23; call 773-772-4322.

—This Thanksgiving, Shaw's Crab House is offering a to-go menu at its Chicago location. Orders must be placed 72 hours in advance and can be picked up on Wed.-Thursday, Nov. 25-26. Call 312-527-2722.

—Beatrix, 519 N. Clark St., will offer full pies to-go for Thanksgiving. Options will include the Pumpkin Chiffon Pie ( $40 ), Oh My! Caramel Pie and Tall, Dark and Handsome Chocolate Cake ( $50 ). Call 312-284-1377 to place an order with at least 48 hours notice.

—Delightful Pastries ( located at Chicago French Market and at 1710 N. Wells St. ) is taking orders for Thanksgiving Day, due Nov. 22. ( The sites will be closed on the holiday. ) Items include sweet pies ( ranging from key lie to apple pumpkin ) and other sweets ( mini-pastry, brownie or cookie trays ); and savory dishes such as spinach lamb pie, ham quiche, holiday bread, butternut squash soup and others. —Brasserie by LM, 800 S. Michigan Ave., will be offering a $35 prix fixe menu beginning at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26. The four-course prix fixe offers guests their choice of appetizer, entree, side and dessert—not inclusive of tax and gratuity. —Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse in Oak Brook ( 2105 Spring Rd. ) will offer a special three-course menu from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Menu options include roasted butternut and acorn squash soup; roasted turkey served family style with house-made cranberry sauce, candied yams, roasted green beans with almonds, mashed potatoes and seasonal stuffing; chocolate mousse parfait, pumpkin pie and apple purse. —Mercat a la Planxa, 638 S. Michigan Ave., invites guests to a Spanish feast this Thanksgiving ( 3 p.m. until closing ) with a wide selection of tapas and other plates. Lighter first courses include Ruta de Xato al Mercat ( a salad made with house smoked salmon, bitter greens, Cornicabra olives and nora chile picada ) as well as Truita de Patata ( potatoes, eggs, smoked wild char roe and potato aioli ). In addition, Mercat serves its Pavo in the style of turkey ballotine with razor clam stuffing and sherry pan gravy. Tickets are $75 each; call 312-765-0524.

—Staytion Market and Bar at Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, 1 W. Wacker Dr., offers a twist on the typical holiday feast with Thanksgiving Unusual. Chefs will re-create the most popular dishes of the season by spicing up these "leftover" favorites such as turkey sliders ( $9 ), roasted Brussel s( $8 ), pumpkin flatbread ( $12 ) and turkey paninis ( $12 ). A classic Thanksgiving turkey feast featuring turkey porchetta with caramelized turnips, sweet potato, gold raisin-and-walnut stuffing and sage gravy will also be offered for $24. It will be available 11 a.m.-11 p.m.

—Adamus ( in the Silversmith Hotel, 10 S. Wabash Ave. ) will offer holiday shoppers 20 percent off all lunch menu items on Friday, Nov. 27. —The Tortoise Club, 350 N. State St., will be open Thanksgiving Day with a holiday buffet 12-7:30 p.m. ( $79 for adults; $25 for kids 4-12; and free for children under 4 ). —Devon Seafood Grill, 39 E. Chicago Ave., is offering, for the Thanksgiving holiday, a menu ( 11 a.m.-8 p.m. ) that includes three courses of holiday favorites at $38 for adults and $19 for children ages 4-12, plus tax and gratuity.
