The Moment of Remembrance will take place on Sept. 11, 2011 at 12 p.m. (CST)

Chicago residents and visitors should be aware that at noon on Sunday, police cars and fire trucks throughout the city will stop and sound their sirens, various churches will ring their bells, and both O'Hare and Midway airports will present the American flag all as a symbol of national solidarity.

Additionally, the OEMC is reissuing the statement by Gary W. Schenkel, OEMC Executive Director, from last evening concerning the potential terrorist threat on the 9/11 anniversary:

"The City of Chicago has been in contact with our state and federal partners. While there is no credible threat to the City at this time, we remain vigilant. We encourage residents to also remain alert, and call 9-1-1 if you witness any suspicious or unusual activity."
