WNDR Museuman original immersive art and technology experienceis in the city's West Loop neighborhood, at 1130 W. Monroe St.
The 10,000-square-foot museum is filled with interactive artworks by cutting edge artists, collectives, technologists, designers and makers.
WNDR disrupts and redefines the traditional museum experience by inviting guests to fully engage with the artworks and multi-sensory installations. However, in this age of COVID, some things have changed, such as QR codes for such interactive exhibits as selfies that are projected onto a walland then dissolve. (Other precautions include mandatory face masks, temperature checks, hand-sanitizer stations, social distancing and employee health screenings.)
The museum is also home to the Midwest's only Infinity Mirror Room, by iconic Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, known for her polka dots. As guests travel through WNDR, they are taken on a multi-dimensional journey in which they serve as an extension of each creator by interacting with various installations. Be transported to hyper-real environments with sight, sound and scent at FLUX Room, by SANTIAGO X, in an experience that is comparable to the current popular Immersive Van Gogh exhibit in Chicago's Gold Coast.
Tickets to WNDR Museum are $30 and must be purchased in advance at WNDRMuseum.com . Children 2 and younger receive free admission.
