What an easy issue to put together! After filling last week's issue with nothing but parade pix, I had content coming out of my ass this week. I have consulted a physician. He recommends oat bran and bed rest.
Speaking of oat bran ( and this may take a few sentences to make sense with the segue ) : We welcome Sofo, the newest bar SOuth of FOster. It has been too long since I have enjoyed a drink in that space. Looks great, guys. I met some new friends, whom I dubbed the health-food-rocker boys, owing to the fact that Timmy works at a health food store. This is where the awkward oat bran segue falls into place. Wow, that was an awful lot of work for a shitty payoff. Sorry.
Teri Yaki may remember me stopping by Hydrate a few weeks ago to snap her goings-on with the nekkidish boys on Thursday stripper night. I met her friends who were club owners from Detroit. They flattered me something awful when they said Nightspots is far better than the Detroit magazine. Look out Motor City. Nightspots is coming to colonize you!
A highlight of my past week was The Big Horse Lounge's hosting of CHANCES Dances, a monthly space for gay/les/trans/what-have-you individuals to come together. Catch the wave the third Monday of every month at 1558 N. Milwaukee.
Queen Titania, on the cover this week, beckons you to see Midtangent Productions' 'A Midsummer Night's Dream: A Queer Tale,' opening July 7 at Kinetic Playground on Lawrence. 1-800-595-4TIX or www.tix.com . See myspace.com/midtangent for more info.
Tune in next week for the Gay-Games-iest issue ever!
