Women's March Chicago plans two marches in 2020 election year

Women's March Chicago and its partner organizations are announcing plans for two Marches in 2020. The first March is slated for Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 in Grant Park. Following a "March only" format, the event will kick off a crucial election year, while raising awareness about and encouraging participation in the 2020 Census.
The second March of 2020 is expected to take place in mid-October, 2020 in Grant Park and will be designed to fire up voters as they head to the polls and make their voices heard through their votes. The October event will feature a traditional rally and March, as well as WMC's festival-style Voter Village, where marchers can mingle with activists, political candidates, merchants and others.
In January 2017, women and their allies rose up across the globe and marched against misogyny, racism, intolerance and many other inequalities that had been exposed during the 2016 presidential campaign and appeared inextricably linked to the incoming administration's proposed policies and plans. For almost three years, women and their allies have continued to voice their dissension over the government's harmful and divisive actions through annual Women's Marches and scores of smaller rallies and marches. In 2020, marchers will have a chance to change the course of history as they head to the ballot box in what surely will be one of the most exciting elections in modern times.
