Come support Care for Real, a wonderful local organization making a difference for families in our community. We will be accepting donations from November 30 through December 14. Most-needed items include: dolls, cars, backpacks, legos, puzzles, paints sets, and crafts,

Beloved drag queens Muffy Fishbasket and Ashley Morgan will join us for our annual reading of The Christmas Truck by local author Bradley Blankenship and other holiday stories. Representatives of the amazing literacy program SitStayRead, along with trained reading dogs, will also be in attendance to talk about the organization and the work that they do.

Before AIDS focuses on gay health institutions in Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles, placing them in a larger political context and following them into the first five years of the AIDS crisis. Like many other minority communities in the 1970s, gay health activists of the 1970s changed the medical and political understandings health to reflect the new realities of their own revolution. Katie Batza graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a PhD in history and a graduate certificate in Gender and Women's Studies.

In addition to co-authoring In Deep, Linda Beckstrom has written a novel and is working on her third book.
