Melissa Etheridge is now cancer free. Nine months after a diagnosis of breast cancer, she is healthy and happily back in the swing of things. She and her wife Julie Cypher are considering another baby, but this time it looks like David Crosby won't be the daddy. According to the television show Extra, she's 'Been there, done that.' Who will the next poppa be?
Madonna, ever trying to adopt the British lifestyle, found herself being thrown from a horse at her countryside residence in the UK. Bones were broken, ribs were cracked, and no doubt her ego was a bit bruised. The doctors are saying she should recover in a few months and be back in the saddle in no time. Will this affect her new album release? We shall see... .
Apparently Paula Abdul didn't do it with Corey Clark. 'It' being sex, wardrobe help, or any other special help. Of course, if I were her, I would have demanded that he cut his hair. The Fox television network probed into the matter and discovered no evidence. Corey, your fifteen minutes are over, baby.
Did you know Jimi Hendrix pretended to be gay so he'd get kicked out of the air force? He might have been in Vietnam if it wasn't for his little charade. Instead, he was kicked out and ended up rocking the music world to it's core. This and more entrancing details can be found in a new biography by Charles R. Cross called 'Room Full Of Mirrors'. Cross is previously known for his biographical work on Kurt Cobain, Led Zepplin, and Bruce Springsteen. All his books are fascinating reads and well worth checking out.
August 30th is the date that Rihanna's new album 'Music Of The Sun' drops. 'Flo'ology' by Floetry has been rescheduled for September of this year, and I'm hearing more and more rumors about a new album for Erykah Badu. Can you hear me drooling?
Was Brad Diaz shot in the leg with a BB gun by Britney or one of her people? Who really knows, but apparently Britney might have been inside the building that Brad was stalking when he was struck with a BB. If she makes a video featuring BB guns, we know who did it. The fact that people are talking about this story, and even that I'm writing it, makes me laugh hysterically. Next thing you know we'll see a book called 'Britney Shot Me'.
And finally this week, you've seen it mentioned before, but it bears repeating: www.wingtunes.com . I don't have the words to describe how delicately Wing sings the hits. Her 'Beatles Classics' and 'Dancing Queen' CD's are impossible to describe. You just have to experience them. Someday I'll have the courage to put myself out there the way she has. You go girl.
With you in 4/4,
