I learned an important lesson this past week: stop trying so hard. A few weeks ago when I wrote the whole Jäger column, it was the least amount of effort I had ever put forth in writing. And yet, I have never gotten so much of a response. Last night at Berlin, even though I was there for about 20 minutes, I had four people crack wise about it. So please excuse the great effort of craft here. In the new year, I promise to dumb it down a notch.
Gotta love a good segue.
Speaking of new year's, get ready. Everywhere is doing something, most with champagne toasts, party paraphernalia and no cover. Whatever you do, do it safely. We wanna see you in the oh-five.
The Closet got a jump on shit with their Pre-New Year's party. When I asked Tabitha to show me something festive, she did not disappoint. Hey, it could have gone on the cover, but I ran into Skyy at 4 a.m. and, well, he knows how to lick balls.
Off to Madrigal's, where I am ecstatic to offer congratulations to Miss Tracy on the birth of her new daughter, Chlöe. I'm sure she'll be proud to know years from now that I had a HOT upstairs photo session with none other than December Playgirl centerfold Dominic. I told Juan that he didn't have to pay his next bill if I could take Dominic with me. Alas, he was not Juan's to give.
I'm honor bound to stop into Bobby Love's to see DJ Tim on Saturday. There is nothing he won't ( or WILL ) do to have fun. By the time he left Little Jim's last night, fun was in the cards.
Merry Jesus Day! I've had it up to my perineum with the politically-correct "Happy Holidays". Now, I'm down with the Kwanzaas and the Channukahs, but Christ is my bag.
I knew the night was spiraling out of control when, at Clark's on Clark last night, I took the worst picture I have ever taken. Maybe it will surface as the next Aborted Cover, but I have to doubt it.
We had our annual holiday-related get-together this year at Spin. Got a chance to mix and mingle with all the cats and kittens you know and love from Nightspots. Jennifer Parello is keen on playing matchmaker with me. Bring it on. graysong sat patiently as we took his picture. He's so behind-the-scenes. DJ Peter Mavrik kept the mood elevated thanks to his musical moments. My ears ain't to old for your funk, Peter.
Finally this week, I'd like to thank you all for making this little rag such a success. Tune in next week for our special '04 wrap-up issue. All the best pics and pecs from the year that was. If only I could do this every month. It's an overworked editors dream.
