The 2023 Tony nominations are out.
With 13 nominations, the musical Some Like It Hot led all productions, with & Juliet; New York, New York; and Shucked tying for second with nine nominations, per Deadline. Kimberly Akimbo and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street had eight while Ain't No Mo', A Doll's House, Into the Woods, Leopoldstadt and Parade had six each.
As for performance nods, just a few of the nominees include Sara Bareilles (Into the Woods), Ben Platt (Parade), Josh Groban (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street), Audra McDonald (Ohio State Murders), Jessica Chastain (A Doll's House), Jodie Comer (Prima Facie), Alex Newell (Shucked) and Sean Hayes (Good Night, Oscar). Platt, Newell and Hayes identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Hayes, who's from the Chicago area, previously won a Jeff Award for his role in Good Night, Oscar.
Funny Girl star Lea Michele and MJ Tony Award winner Myles Frost announced the nominees on May 2. The 76th Annual Tony Awards will air live from the United Palace in New York City's Washington Heights on Sunday, June 11, and will stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. Queer Oscar winner Ariana DeBose will again host the ceremony.
