Three Chicago Red Stars will join the United States Women's National Team (USWNT) later this month as the squad takes on Paraguay Sept. 16 and 21.
Defenders Casey Krueger and Tierna Davidson will be joined by teammate and striker Mallory Pugh.
This is Pugh's first call up to the USWNT roster since the team's World Cup victory in 2019. Pugh's first cap with the team came in January of 2016 against the Republic of Ireland where she also scored her first goal. In her 63 appearances with the national team, Pugh has 18 goals and 17 assists.
Davidson and Krueger were both part of the U.S. team that won a bronze medal in Tokyo earlier this summer. Julie Ertz and Alyssa Naeheralso part of the Red Stars contingent in Tokyowill not play in the upcoming matches due to injury.
The USWNT will take on Paraguay on Thursday, Sept. 16, at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio (6:30 p.m. CT, on ESPN2) and on Tuesday, Sept. 21, during the first-ever U.S. soccer match at FC Cincinnati's newly opened TQL Stadium (6:30 p.m. CT, on FS1 & TUDN).
