Selena Gomez, Christina Aguilera, Sofia Vergara and Jennifer Lopez are among the nominees at this year's National Council of La Raza's ALMA Awards, Digital Spy reported. Among others who were nominated were out singer Ricky Martin, and actresses Naya Rivera and Sara Ramirez (who portray lesbians on, respectively, Glee and Grey's Anatomy). The awards will air Sept. 16 on NBC. The council is the largest national Hispanic civil-rights and advocacy organization in the United States.

Singer Ellie Goulding has joked that she has many lesbian fans because of her athletic physique, according to Digital Spy. "I think that I have a lesbian following because I'm quite muscley," Goulding quipped in an interview with PrideSource. "I found I have quite a [big] lesbian following, and I feel like I have quite a big gay following—and I don't know why." She added that she's thankful to be able to connect with the gay demographic.

Soccer star and heartthrob David Beckham is launching a new clothing line for men, according to Digital Spy. The husband of Victoria Beckham has signed a long-term partnership with H&M and will bring his Bodywear line to 50 countries worldwide from Feb. 2, 2012. Beckham was first reported to have signed a deal early last year.

Chloe Lattanzi, the daughter of Olivia Newton-John, is dealing with serious criticism because of the music video for her song, "Play with Me," according to the New York Daily News. In the video, Lattanzi points a gun at her own head, slits her wrists and even snorts cocaine. While parents say that the video romanticizes harmful behavior, Lattanzi, 26, has responded by emphasizing the video's artistic value; she also has recorded a YouTube video titled "Thank You To All The Fans And Haters."

Actor Neil Patrick Harris talked about a variety of topics in an interview with NextMovie.com, covering same-sex marriage and his new movie, The Smurfs. He said, among other things, that the Smurf name he would pick for himself would be "Variety Smurf." Regarding the legalization of same-sex marriage in New York state, Harris said, "It's nice to see so many people that have been together for so long to be able to affirm their vows in a very positive experience. I congratulate all of them." As for his own marriage plans, Harris—who is engaged to David Burtka—said, "I have no idea."

MTV has announced its line-up for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), scheduled to take place Aug. 28 in Los Angeles, according to a press release. Adele, whose "Rolling in the Deep" single received seven nominations, is slated to perform at the event for the first time. Among other scheduled performers are rapper Lil Wayne and embattled R&B singer Chris Brown. Viewers can vote for general VMA categories, including "Best New Artist," by visiting www.vma.mtv.com, or m.mtv.com on their mobile phones.

Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian are auctioning off a one-of-a-kind autographed T-shirt on eBay to support the NOH8 campaign, which opposes the California gay-marriage ban Proposition 8, according to On Top Magazine. In addition to the T-shirt, which reads "All [heart] NOH8," the auction includes the sisters' official NOH8 portraits. The auction ends Aug. 3.

Celebrity photographer David LaChapelle took pictures of musicians Ricky Martin and Nicki Minaj for the MAC Viva Glam line of cosmetics, which raises funds for HIV/AIDS research, according to On Top Magazine. In February, Lady Gaga introduced her MAC cosmetic lipstick line on ABC's Good Morning America while dressed as a condom. Elton John, Cyndi Lauper and Boy George have also posed for the label.

Former Daily Show correspondent Mo Rocca has officially come out of the closet, according to Advocate.com . Rocca came out in a podcast interview with The Six Pack, saying, "I'm jsut more comfortable with myself now. It's taken me until I'm 42 to begin to feel this way." Rocca also commented on Fire Island gays, saying that some "combine desperation with ruthlessness, and it's just not a winning combination."

Beverly McClellan, one of the lesbian finalists on the NBC series The Voice, is getting married—and fellow former contestant (and gay fave) Frenchie Davis will sing at the wedding, according to On Top Magazine. McClellan told CNN that she loves her girlfriend and that the couple is "absolutely" planning to marry, although she did not announce a wedding date. Lesbian singer Vicci Martinez was also a finalist, as was out male singer Nakia.

The Parents Television Council is protesting the upcoming NBC show The Playboy Club, according to Advocate.com . Council President Tim Winter wrote to affiliates that "Putting a veneer of sophistication on an industry that exploits women and destroys families is not laudable; it is disgraceful." Moreover, at least one station concurs with the council; Salt Lake City, Utah, affiliate KSL has already banned the series. Among those on the show are hunk Eddie Cibrian, gay fave Jenifer Lewis and bisexual actress Amber Heard.

Rosie O'Donnell told reporters that she feels her new talk show will boost the Oprah Winfrey Network, according to Advocate.com . The Rosie Show's time period has been changed from its original daytime slot to 7 p.m., and the network and O'Donnell seem to be hitching their wagons to her show's star. O'Donnell's own talk show had a solid audience and when she joined The View in 2006, ratings increased by double digits.

Denis O'Hare, who played scheming vampire Russell Edgington on the HBO show True Blook, married longtime partner Hugo Redwood in New York, according to Hot Momma Gossip. O'Hare, 49, wedded the designer five days after same-sex marriages could take place in the state. O'Hare is also a Broadway veteran who won a Tony for his work in Take Me Out.

Tales from the Crypt—one of the most comic-themed popular shows to run on HBO—is set to return, according to Hot Momma Gossip. The show's been in development but a long legal debate kept the show—which will not return the Cryptkeeper—in limbo. Whoopi Goldberg, Demi Moore, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks and many other stars appeared on the horror show when it ran from 1989 to 1996.

Amy Winehouse was reportedly about to adopt a 10-year-old Caribbean girl when the singer passed away, according to the New York Daily News. Winehouse, who spent much of the last three years at a resort on the island of St. Lucia, was about to adopt Dannika Augustine, whose grandmother runs a bar near the resort. Winehouse reportedly died of complications related to her quitting her well-known alcohol habit cold-turkey.

Actress Denise Richards acknowledged to shock jock Howard Stern that she once had a same-sex affair, according to On Top Magazine. During an appearance to promote her new memoir, The Real Girl Next Door, the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen added that the other woman was famous. Richards is best known for the 1998 film Wild Things, which included a steamy lesbian sex scene between herself and Neve Campbell in a swimming pool.

Comedian Andy Dick has pled not guilty to charges he groped a security guard and another man at a West Virginia bar, according to Reuters. The Newsradio star—who has had several legal entanglements over the years—is accused of groping the men at the Huntington bar in January 2010. The charge of sexual abuse carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

Joe Jonas—one-third of the famous Jonas brothers—will open Britney Spears' Femme Fatale world tour for one show, Digital Spy reported. "This just in, I will be performing at the Britney Spears concert in New Jersey on August 5," he tweeted. The tour currently features opening acts such as Nicki Minaj; Jessie and the Boy Toys; and electropop act Nervo. Jonas' own debut album, Fast Life, will be released Sept. 5.

Captain America star Chris Evans has admitted to a man-crush on fellow actor Brad Pitt, Gather.com reported. Evans told The Advocate, "What can I say? I think he's a great actor and he's versatile as all hell. I've never seen a movie I don't like him in. So I guess he's my man-crush." Evans added, "Yes, I do have a gay broth­er [actor Scott Evans]. ... Mostly I'm hanging out with him and his gay buddies, who are hilarious. They've invited me out to gay bars before, and I said, 'Look, guys, I've got to draw the line there."

Glee star Darren Criss—who plays Blaine, Kurt's love interest, on the show—will be Daniel Radcliffe's temporary replacement in the Broadway musical How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, according to Digital Spy. Glee producer Ryan Murphy has reportedly OK'd the move, as Criss would only miss one episode of the show's third season. Radcliffe is leaving the production Jan. 1, 2012; Criss will assume the role of J. Pierrepont Finch Jan. 3-22.

Oprah Winfrey has firmly entrenched herself as CEO of OWN (the Oprah Winfrey Network), according to the Hollywood Reporter. She Facebooked a photo of herself in a sparsely decorated office with the caption, "Here I am "CEO-ing" in my new office at OWN in LA!!"—prompting comments such as "You need to get Nate [Berkus] in there!" In related news, Jenny McCarthy has ended her deal with Winfrey's Harpo Studios to create a syndicated talk show.

Miley Cyrus has a new tattoo—and this one supports gay rights, according to the L.A. Times. Her seventh tattoo is an equal sign, and she even confronted an anti-gay fan on Twitter, posting, "Where does it say in the bible to judge others? Oh right. It doesn't. GOD is the only judge honey." Cyrus, 18, has previously tweeted in favor of same-sex marriage.

Angelina Jolie was honored at the Sarajevo Film Festival with the "Heart of Sarajevo" Award in the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Salt actress was recognized for her humanitarian efforts and "active engagement in the complexities of the real world." Jolie filmed part of her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey, in Bosnia and Herzegovina; she worked completely with a local cast.

The book Coco Chanel: An Intimate Life contains many revelations about the late fashion designer, according to the Huffington Post. Biographer Lisa Chaney writes about Chanel having an open attitude regarding bisexuality, an affair with a then-married Salvador Dali and opiate usage. Penguin Books stated that "Chaney's controversial book reveals the truth about Chanel's drug habit and lesbian affairs. [...] While uniquely highlighting the designer's far-reaching influence on the modern arts, Chaney's fascinating biography paints a deeper and darker picture of Coco Chanel than any so far."

Sean Hayes—best known as Jack on the TV series Will & Grace—has revealed that production on the film The Three Stooges is over, according to Digital Spy. The out actor praised the Farrelly brothers' movie, saying, "I never laughed so hard in my life and I saw some early clips and it looks fantastic." Hayes plays Larry in the comedy, slated to be released next year.

Controversial film director Lars von Trier said that his new movie, Nymphomaniac, will have explicit sex scenes, Digital Spy reported. von Trier added that he may have to release the movie in two versions—a hardcore edit and one that's more mainstream. He said that it is not a porn movie, stating, "It principally is a film with a lot of sex in it and also a lot of philosophy." Among von Trier's other films are Breaking the Waves, Dogville and Dancer in the Dark.

Dolly Parton has apologized to a lesbian couple who were confronted at her Tennessee theme park, Dollywood, about a T-shirt one of them wore, according to ABC News. Olivier Odom and her partner, Jennifer Tipton, were entering the park with their family July 9 when a park worker asked Odom to turn her "Marriage is so gay" shirt inside out. Odom complied but wrote a letter to Dollywood about being LGBT-inclusive. Parton apologized, adding, "I am looking further into the incident and hope and believe it was more policy than insensitivity. I am very sorry it happened at all."

Several Broadway favorites will participate in the world premiere of The Real Love: A New Musical Aug. 27 at California's Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Playbill.com reported. The production will feature Tony winner Daisy Eagan; Tony winner Cady Huffman; Tony nominees Adam Pascal and Robert Torti; and actress-singer Joanna Ampil. Bluewater Productions has unveiled its schedule for the release for its "Fame" biography graphic-novel series—and the subjects include Taylor Lautner, Michael Jackson, Selena Gomez and Black Eyed Peas, according to a press release. Each edition, featuring additional artwork and new covers, will be approximately 40 pages. Fame: Michael Jackson will be released this month, with Gomez and the Peas out in September and Lautner in November.

Redmond O'Neal—the 26-year-old son of Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett—was arrested for heroin possession, US Magazine reported. Redmond was pulled over for a red-light infraction; heroin was subsequently discovered in his car. Redmond O'Neal—who has battled addiction issues since his teens—was jailed two years ago after being caught with heroin.

Bravo, which just notched its best second quarter ever, will feature three new series and three returning favorites, Deadline.com reported. The working titles of the new shows are Around the World in 80 Plates (a culinary competition), Paint the Town (following six twentysomething women in NYC) and Newlyweds: The First Year. The network has renewed The Real Housewives of Orange County (its seventh season), Million Dollar Listing L.A. (fifth season) and Top Chef Masters (fourth season).

DJ Samantha Ronson was arrested Aug. 1 for driving under the influence, according to US Weekly. Police pulled over Ronson, 33—who once dated Lindsay Lohan—at 10:30 a.m. when they noticed her driving 19 miles over the 70 m.p.h. speed limit. An officer said, "When she was stopped, she showed signs of being impaired. [The officer] gave her balance tests and she showed signs of alcohol intoxication."

Superstar Janet Jackson, 45, is reportedly about to announce her engagement to Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana, 36, according to Musicrooms.net . The "Together Again" singer and Al Mana have dated since 2009; he allegedly popped the question last year, presenting a 15-carat diamond ring.
