Chicago, IL After 7 years of monthly GLBT-centric rock and variety, The Flesh Hungry Dog Show's final installment happens on Friday, May 4th with an all-star lineup from the show's most popular performers from the last 7 years, including The Joans, Jinx Titanic (who chose the Flesh Hungry Dog Show for his return to the stage after a several year break from performing) and The Handcuffs.

Gary Ward, who promotes and produces the show under his stage name Gary Airedale says he's folding the show because, "I've accomplished everything I set out to do when I started the show 7 years ago. I've helped build and nurture an audience for live rock in the gay community, nurtured nascent queer bands, and I've shown the audience a great time. I'm really proud what I've accomplished." As for the future, Ward isn't ruling much out. "While the monthly show is over, I'm not saying that I'll never produce a show again. I just need a break. At some point I'd like to produce special, larger events with more well known or touring acts in a larger venue..although I don't have any specific plans at this time.

The Flesh Hungry Dog Show starts at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4th, 2012 at Jackhammer (773-743-5772), 6406 N. Clark St. in Chicago. Jackhammer is a 21+ venue. Tickets are $12 online at www.fleshhungrydog.com and $15 at the door

The mission of The Flesh Hungry Dog Show is to bring live rock and related musical forms to Chicago's gay community, and to provide a fun, alternative venue for bands with GLBT content and members, and bands that are GLBT supportive

The Joans

Formed in 2007, in Chicago The Joans are bunch of bickering weirdos who are united by their love for rock and roll, drama and glamor, not necessarily in that order. They have played from San Francisco to Milwaukee opening for Cyndi Lauper, Joan Rivers and some guy that played the electric violin. The Joans videos, 'Mad at the Dirt' and 'Joan Crawford Goes to Hell', directed by Peter Neville have been featured on the LOGO network and in film festivals around the world. You can get their music on iTunes, Amazon or CD Baby.

The Joans combine a sleek, new wave sensibility, a 60's garage rock sound and a style that combines street smart grit and old fashioned glamor to create their own Tough Dame rock genre. Formed in 2007, The Joans consist of Davy, Taylor, Jennifer, Aaron, Steve and Ed who not only share the same last name (Joans), but their love of entertaining their devoted fans, much like their muse, Joan Crawford. The Joans rock, and they do it with style.

Jinx Titanic

Known for his whipsmart lyrics, straight-ahead style, and raucous live shows, JINX TITANIC supplies the world with 100% pure nut-bustin' magic! As the driving force behind the award winning and critically acclaimed pop/punk marvels Super 8 Cum Shot, JINX TITANIC wrote and produced two CDs under the Super 8 Cum Shot moniker, Super 8 Cum Shot Volume I (Big Dixie 2002) and the 2004 OMA winner for Outstanding Production, Super 8 Cum Shot Volume II (Big Dixie 2003).

A 2005 re-release of Super 8 Cum Shot Volume II as JINX TITANIC Booted & Cuffed (Big Dixie 2005) stomped its way on to many of 2005's top ten lists. Songs from these recordings can be heard in several feature films, as well as numerous television programs, including HBO's True Blood, Cathouse, Showtime's Look, and Bunim-Murray produced reality-shows for MTV Networks, along with the MTV Movie Award winning spoof United 300. After a hiatus of a few years, Jinx Titanic returns to the stage for this special Flesh Hungry Dog Show finale.

The Handcuffs

The Handcuffs embody the spirit of rock music's uninhibited, sexy and overbearing appeal, a perfect blend of style and energy. They do not sound like anyone else, but at the same time they seem very familiar. They are influenced by everything good that sells and anything good that doesn't. Rock music is loud (not just in volume, but in its nature), pompous and fun - and The Handcuffs embrace every reckless minute of it.

Chloe F. Orwell, the designated blond of the duo, is the lead singer whose stage presence and vocal stylings ooze sex and scorch and rock and roll. She can slide from a corduroy growl to a shimmering silky sigh in a Detroit second. Brad Elvis, the other half of The Handcuffs, is a black-haired, four-handed drummer whose manic-panic style paints a 747 jet rhythm to every Handcuffs tune. Their potent creative chemistry earned the duo praise from fans and critics alike for their musicianship and showmanship plus accolades in the mainstream and alternative press throughout the world, including the Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Columbus Dispatch, Illinois Entertainer, The Herald-Review, The Big Takeover, Punk Planet, Amplifier, Sound Affects (Sweden), Jem (Japan), Mojo (U.K), Bucketfull of Brains (U.K.) and countless others.
