When Anthony Meade gets excited about an idea, it's a glory to behold. Anthony came to me a while back and expressed interest in shooting the Easter cover to help promote Sister Axxx, this Thursday, April 14 at Hydrate to benefit Edge Alliance. So he wrangled the sisters, found a guy named Moses to play Jesus (I know, right?) and it all ended up as what you see on the cover. I did all the technical photoshopping and weirdness. You would not believe how tedious it is photoshopping Easter grass! All for a good cause, I suppose.
After the Sister Axxx, ease on down to Spin for our third installment of Windy City Gay Idol. Our kickoff night at The Glenwood blew away all of our expectations. I'm sure Spin will bring a whole lot to the Gay Idol plate.
And check out this week's Windy City Times to see pictures of Windy City Gay Idol at The Call. As of this writing, it hasn't happened yet. But for the purposes of proper PR, I must say it was a great show!
Have you been out to Stonewall Inn in Lyons yet? C'mon, the weather's nice and you need a change. Where else can you see hot straight bartenders being oiled up by the highest bidder? Luckily what happens in Lyons is disseminated throughout Chicago's gay community through this very magazine. Page 20 will tell the tale.
Take off to The Glenwood, Sofo and T's and grab your passport. Each month, earn a stamp from each bar and one special "community stamp" and be entered into a drawing after one year for $1000 cash. Better get started right away. You've only got two more weeks to earn your April stamps!
A special shout-out to the boys at Brown Elephant on Clark St. in Andersonvilleespecially the Jeffsfor helping me and the mister adopt our new couch and chair combo. It was used on a movie set right before we got it. Now to cover it in cat hair, like everything else in my humble home office.
