JOKERFACE
Yep, that's li'l ol' me with an even mix of cherries and chocolate goo all up in my face area. No, there wasn't a harsh disagreement over toppings at the local 31 Flavors. It was, of course, Equality IL's Pie Toss at Sidetrack. I had the honor of getting cream up my nose with many of Chicago's most important activists, politicians, bar folks and all-around good sports. Look on page 21 for more gooey, gooey charity faces, including one Mr. Cleve Jones. Now that's relevance!
COINCIDENCE?
Ever wonder what became of Robert Hegyes ( TV's Juan Epstein ) ? Well, apparently, just after the wrap party for Welcome Back, Kotter he was cryogenically frozen and thawed out just in time for The Sarcastic Squad's Sausagefest at Berlin. I mean, come the fuck on!
HISTORY
I know, I know. We don't look an issue over 600.
Whereas I appreciate your flattery, I have to say that I am quite proud that Nightlines/Nightspots has been at the forefront of Chicago's LBGT nightlife scene since that very first issue back in 1990. Pictured here is the cover of our 100th issue, street date of February 19, 1992. One has to wonder what on Earth Harry Hamlin would have to do to make the cover these days. Makes ya think...
I doesn't make you think, you say. Then you are officially no fun.
So without any further fanfare or smoke-blowing-up-our-own-asses, we thank you for reading for so, so long and encourage you to stick around for issue number 2000, slated to hit the streets somewhere around March 2047.
I think by then we'll be publishing only on brain waves, but you get my point.
