Buffalo Theatre Ensemble presents The Cake, written by Bekah Brunstetter and directed by Steve Scott, now through Sunday, March 1, in the Playhouse Theatre at the McAninch Arts Center ( MAC ), 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.
The production raises questions about issues such as religion and LGBTQ rightsand those will be the topics in two post-play talks:
Sunday, Feb. 16, in MAC, room 117: Panelists will include Dana Thompson, College of DuPage Counseling Faculty and Pastor Jared Olson from St Paul Lutheran Church, with College of DuPage's Dennis Emano moderating.
Sunday, March 1, in MAC, room 140: Panelists will include Pastor Jay Moses, from Wheaton's Hope Presbyterian Church, and OUTspoken Illinois President Jacob Kniep. The moderator will be retired United Church of Christ minister John Rodgers.
The plays begin at 3 p.m. on those days, with the talks starting at about 4:45 p.m.
