Test Positive Aware Network ( TPAN ) has announced details about the organization's annual fall fundraising event, the Aware Affair: Ultra Lounge, to be held on Saturday, September 12 at the Ravenswood Event Center/Ravenswood Billboard Factory located at 4011N. Ravenswood.
Community leaders have joined to help with this year's event, including the honorable Jan Schakowsky and Mike Quigley, both serving as honorary co-chairs. Philanthropic community members including Todd Armbruster, Doug Ferguson, Scott Silverman, and Josh Titus, who have a history of working with TPAN and several other HIV/AIDS and GLBT organizations, are also co-chairing the event.
The Aware Affair event theme of 60s retro, will transform the warehouse venue's third floor atrium into a VIP Mile High Club for donors attending the VIP reception, a mix-and-mingle with pop artist Kristine W., and presentation of awards to this year's distinguished honorees. Kristine W.'s performance in the Mile High Club will feature "chill" songs from her new jazz album "Straight Up With A Twist."
The venue's classic car showroom will also be transformed into an Ultra Lounge where guests can enjoy a tableau of fine cuisine pushed throughout the venue dim-sum style; peruse an array of silent auction prizes and artwork; and watch an eclectic variety of performance art and entertainment.
At the end of the evening, Kristine W. will perform some of her favorite songs for guests as they enjoy desserts and other libations.
