TELEVISION Peacock cancels rebooted 'Saved by the Bell'

Only a month after the reboot of the classic NBC comedy Saved by the Bell won Outstanding Comedy Series at the GLAAD Media Awards, Peacock has canceled the show after two seasons, Deadline reported.

The second season of the show dropped in November after the first season reportedly performed well for the streaming service.

In the reimagined series, when California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state—including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids a much-needed dose of reality.

The new class featured Belmont Cameli, Dexter Darden, Mitchell Hoog, Alycia Pascual-Pena, scene-stealing trans actress Josie Totah and Haskiri Velazquez, along with Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and Mario Lopez reprising their respective roles as Jessie Spano and A.C. Slater. John Michael Higgins also starred as Principal Toddman.
