Story Jam features local celebs in a show to raise money for immigrant youth

Chicago, IL November 17th, 2019Story Jam, a show that is part live-lit and part music concert combining storytellers and songwriters with a rocking band, will return to City Winery on Sunday, November 17th at 12pm for a show that will benefit The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights.
Every ticket sold will support the cause. The Young Center is a champion for the rights and best interests of unaccompanied immigrant children, making sure that wherever they land, whether here in the U.S. or in their home country, they are safe.
This is not only Story Jam's first full benefit show for charity but also its first "Luminaries" show which will features high-profile storytellers who known for their contribution to the city's arts, news, and cultural scene. The show will feature stories from Peter Sagal of the popular NPR show "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me"; Second City favorite David Pasquesi of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Veep"; LGBTQ activist and The Chicago Reader publisher Tracy Baim; comedian/actor Antoine McKay of "Empire"; and comedian/politician and former WGN host Patti Vasquez. Each personal story will be followed by a song written specifically for these special guest storytellers.
Producer Stephanie Rogers created Story Jam five ago to combine her passion for both nonfiction stories and music. Rogers, a graduate of Northwestern University's Theater Program, continues to expand her vision for Story Jam and has added Outspoken curator and storyteller Archy Jamjun, and storytellers Marya Morris and Anne Purky to her team.
The November 17th Story Jam will take place at City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60607 at noon. Tickets are $35 for the show and are available at: citywinery.com/chicago/story-jam-11-17-19.html .
