Stonewall Kickball registration in effect
Stonewall Kickball, a non-profit kickball league, has launched its fall season registration.
The league will be playing on Sundays at 12-5 p.m. from Sept. 13 through Oct. 25. The league's main goal will be to help raise funds for the local non-profit Fred Says.

AIDS Run & Walk Sept. 26 at Soldier Field
This year's AIDS Run & Walk Chicago, hosted by the AIDS Foundation of Chicago ( AFC ) and benefiting 35 other community organizationsknown as CommunityDirect partnerson Saturday, Sept. 26, at Chicago's Soldier Field.
This year's message is "Put your foot down." In a statement, AFC President/CEO John Peller said, "We want supporters to put their foot down and make a difference in this epidemic, especially among communities most impacted by HIV."
The 35 CommunityDirect partners that will raise funds through this year's event will receive 90 percent of all money raised by their teams. Last year, the 32 CommunityDirect teams raised a combined $270,000.
Event registration is $40 in advance for 5K walkers, and $50 for 5K or 10K runners. To register as an individual or as a team, or to donate to a CommunityDirect team, visit AIDSRunWalk.org or call 312-334-0946. Online registration ends Sept. 20.
'Rodeo Round Town' Aug. 21-23
The Illinois Gay Rodeo Association will hold its "Rodeo Round Town" weekend Aug. 21-23.
The weekend will feature a series of fundraiser parties and events around Chicago to help ILGRA plan for a future full-fledged rodeo.
Events will include a rodeo hoedown dance at Charlie's, 3726 N. Broadway, on Aug. 21 at 9 p.m.; a "Cowboy Eye for the Leather Guy" makeover contest on Aug. 22 at Touche, 6412 N. Clark St., at 10 p.m.; and a "Happy Trails" farewell dance Aug. 23 at The Call, 1547 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., at 4 p.m.
