Chicago Hoops Classic XIV celebrates its 14th year as the world's pre-eminent basketball tournament for gay men and women April 17-18, 2004. It is the longest running and largest annual b-ball tournament for gays and lesbians in the world. With more than 30 teams expected to compete this year, 2004 promises to extend CHC's record of significant yearly growth.
This year's tournament tips off April 17-18 at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Pool play begins April 17, with elimination games scheduled for Sunday, April 18.
The CHC has earned a reputation as not only the world's leading basketball tournament for gay men and women, but as an important goodwill event for the gay community.
The focus of this year's tournament is to attract new women's teams, international teams and men over 35. To support this focus, the CHC is offering entry fee discounts to all new international and women's teams. In addition, the CHC has added a new '35 and Over' division to attract men who wish to play with other 'weekend warriors' in a competitive setting.
