British authorities have charged actor Kevin Spacey with four counts of sexual assault and a further offense, Deadline reported.
The actor has also been charged with causing a person to "engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent," the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 16. The charges follow a review of evidence by the Crown Prosecution Service.
The allegations cover 2005-13 in London and the county of Gloucester, and were against three men all now in their 30s and 40s.
In addition, a judge ruled that another sexual-abuse lawsuit against Spaceybrought by actor Anthony Rapp, the first in a wave of Spacey accusers in 2017will go to trial in New York federal court starting Tuesday, Oct. 4, Vulture noted.
A judge rejected Spacey's request to dismiss the civil suit, per Reuters, while dismissing Rapp's assault claim because of a statute of limitations. The remaining claims are battery and infliction of emotional distress related to an alleged incident when Rapp was 14.
