SkiBudz announces 2008-09 kickoff event and trip
SkiBudz, Chicago's gay ski and snowboard club, is having its annual kickoff event to announce their 2008-09 trips Thursday, Nov. 13, 7-9 p.m., at Crew, 4804 N. Broadway.
This is a chance to learn about SkiBudz and this year's trips, which will take place:
—Jan. 8-13, 2009 at Salt Lake City, Utah;
—Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 2009 at Granite Peak, Wis.;
—Feb 12-17, 2009 at Breckenridge, Colo., and;
—Mar 12-17, 2009 at Lake Tahoe/Heavenly Calif./Nev.

Gay powerlifter wins another award
Chris Morgan, the current reigning Gay Games Powerlifting champion, won a silver medal at the World Single Life Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, that took place Oct. 10.
Morgan competed in the squat discipline, making a lift of 230 kilograms ( 507.06 lbs. ) to place second in the 82.5-kilo ( 181.88-lb. ) class. He has already appeared for England on four occasions, taking World Championship silver ( 2004 ) , gold ( 2005 ) and bronze ( 2006 ) , along with European silver ( 2005 ) .
