SOFA ( Sculpture Objects & Functional Art ) CHICAGO 2006, the critically acclaimed international exposition, returns to Navy Pier's Festival Hall, on Nov. 10-12 for the 13th year to present work from nearly 100 international galleries and dealers.
The exposition, which encompasses contemporary, decorative and fine art, includes a lecture series as well as special exhibits by several international arts organizations. The opening-night mise en scéne public preview is Nov. 9, 7-10 p.m.
Among the announced galleries is San Francisco's Rena Bransten Gallery, which has represented top contemporary and emerging art since 1978. London's Galerie Besson, which specializes in international studio ceramics, will be among seven other galleries from the United Kingdom. Two new Danish galleries add strength to Scandinavian design arts at the fair.
The SOFA CHICAGO 2006 Lecture Series will be held at the exposition Nov. 10-11. Thirty-one presentations, complimentary with admission to SOFA CHICAGO, are planned.
SOFA CHICAGO 2006 will be presented in Navy Pier's Festival Hall, 600 E. Grand. Tickets for the opening-night preview are $50.
