CHICAGO—Chicago Red Stars midfielder Jill Aguilera has been named to the Puerto Rican Women's National Team roster for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador this summer.

Aguilera will represent Puerto Rico at the international level for the third time after earning her first call up in 2022. Aguilera earned her first cap and recorded her first international goal in the 66th minute of Puerto Rico's 2-0 shutout of Suriname April 8, 2022. In April of 2023, not only was Aguilera called up for a friendly match between Puerto Rico and Xolos Femenil of Mexico's Liga MX Femenil, but it was also the first match the midfielder captained for El Huracán Azul.

2023 is only Aguilera's second year in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). After making her professional debut for Chicago in the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup, Aguilera made 17 regular-season appearances, earning five starts and accumulating a 70.6 percent passing accuracy. In 2023, Aguilera has eight regular-season appearances,118 minutes played and appeared twice for the Red Stars in 2023 UKG Challenge Cup play.

Puerto Rico will face Mexico, El Salvador, Jamaica and Colombia in the Central American and Caribbean Games group stage play June 27-July 3. The top two teams of each group advance to the knockout stage of the tournament July 5-8. Aguilera will join Puerto Rico June 26 following Chicago's match against New Jersey/New York and ahead of the Puerto Rico's initial group stage match against Mexico June 27.
