Young entrepreneur Anna Deshawn of E3 Radio rocks the city of Chicago with the announcement of the Queer as Art Concert Series celebrating the artistic talent and beauty of the LGBTQ community.
Joined by a host of superb sponsors such as The Windy City Times, the legendary Sidetrack Video Bar of Lakeview, and the classy yet infamous Remy Martin & Co., the Queer as Art Concert Series is an ongoing sequence of 4 concerts hosting a variety of queer artists from across the country. It will display music, poetry, comedy and a heap of additional surprises for the art appreciating attendees.
The first installment in the series happens April 9 at SideTrack Video Bar located at 3349 N. Halsted. The doors open at 6:30pm CT and the concert begins at 7:00pm CT. Kicking of the series will be renown queer comedian Dana Austin whose comedic styling's have led her to stages across the nation opening for popular acts such as Paul Mooney and Thea Vidal. After showcasing for the Queens of Comedy and becoming a regular headlining act at the Cleveland Improv, Austin has rapidly creeped her way into the hearts of not just the LGBTQ community, but into the hearts of comedy lovers as a whole. Also joining Dana Austin on the first leg of the series will be singer songwriter and poet Storie Devereaux of Mahogany Red Music Group. Her style is funk and her groove is constant. Never to be mistaken for a 1 dimensional artist, Ms. Devereaux is sure to satisfy a crowd as her diehard fans will boldly concur. Closing the show will be the audaciously beautiful and talented Vixen. The Vixen is one of the top Drag Queens on the scene slaying stages from city to city with the voice of an angel and the elegance of Jackie O. Together these queer artists will walk onto the stage as stars in their own right, ready to shine for Chicago.
