Chicago, IL —Pride Films and Plays announces seven short films and two episodes from "Lesbian HBO" inspired website — Tello Films receiving their Chicago premieres during Pride Films and Plays Women's Words Film Festival at the Public House Theatre ( 3914 N Clark ) on September 15th, 2014.
Films chosen for the fest include an innocent teenage story of breaking boundaries, a sexy 30 year old woman crashing a teenage party in the South of France, an exploration of love inspired by Robert Frost and glue, the genuine quirks of young love, a betrayal of true love, and a British Lesbian comedy of unforeseen family intimacy.
And the featured web series Rent Controlled is a comedy of unfortunate events: Heather can't move out, and can't move on. When the love of Heather's life decides to break up with her the day after they move in together, she has to decide if she should move on, move out, or put on the moves that would win back Jennifer's heart in this work from Tello Films. These are just some of the tantalizing offerings at Women's Words Film Fest which will be at the Public House Theatre on September 15th at 7:30PM. The full program is listed below.
Along with our nine premieres we will be bringing back Angie and Jackie Final Cut, The Wait, Hypocrites and Strippers and Another Women's Scent, four shorts that were well received by Chicago in the Annual Gay Film Festival and Queer Bits Film Fest.
The screening commences at 7:30PM and will be followed by a brief talkback with a few of the filmmakers. The Public House Theatre bar will be open beginning at 6:30PM. Please come early and have a drink with us!

About Women's Words Film Festival
Women's Words Film Festival is Pride Films and Plays' second installment into Women's Words Weekend. The first being the sold out fundraiser, Lezfest: A One Night Fling, held at Mary's Attic on July 28th showcasing a melting pot of Chicago's best and brightest women through song and spoken word.
Women's Words Weekend features films and plays written by women with lesbian themes. This is a contest for works for the stage ( plays, musicals, spoken word ) and screen ( teleplays and screenplays ). Two scripts have been selected from each category and their work will be performed as stage readings during Women's Words Weekend, September 19-21st at Center on Halsted. The stage readings are comprised of local Chicago actors and directors.
Our mission is to present and develop human stories with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender characters or themes that speak for the community and are essential viewing for all audiences.
