Police are still searching for the man wanted for questioning following the brutal murder of a 67-year-old Mount Prospect man who was attacked and killed with a rock on May 18 in Camp Pine Woods in unincorporated Cook County.
Two other men were injured in the attack.
According to Steve Mayberry, a spokesman for the Cook County Forest Preserve District, many have called the hotline to provide tips, but police encourage anyone else with information to call 708-865-4896.
Mayberry said they are still investigating what led to the altercation between the attacker and the three victims on one of Camp Pine Wood's trails. According to police, all three men were attacked at the same time.
The gay community has voiced concern over the attacks and the murder because Camp Pine Woods is a known gay cruising area. Comments voicing concern over the attacks have been posted on a cruising Web site, Squirt.org, and phone calls have been made to Windy City Times voicing concern.
The man wanted for questioning is age 20 to 25, thin, tall, white, and has dark, short hair and hazel eyes.
