'Music Box Christmas Show' Dec. 13-24
The 30th annual Music Box Christmas Showfeaturing White Christmas and/or It's a Wonderful Lifewill take place Dec. 13-24 at the Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave.
Families that want to be part of the holiday fun can send a photo from past years at the Music Box Theatre with the names of those in the picture to boxoffice@musicboxtheatre.com and the theater will add them to the preshow slideshow on the big screen.
Tickets are $12 for a single feature; $17 for a double feature; or $10/single or $15/double feature for under 13.

Mayor, city council recognize 'Too Much Light'
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the City Council of the City of Chicago have issued a resolution recognizing the 25th anniversary of Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind: 30 Plays in 60 Minutes and its status as the longest running original show in Chicago theater history.
As part of this resolution, The Neo-Futurists are honored "for their ongoing contributions to making the arts part of daily life in Chicago for 25 years and counting."

Hyde Park's 'Nutcracker' Dec. 14-15
Hyde Park School of Dance ( HPSD ) concludes its 20th-anniversary season with Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.
Performances are Dec. 14-15 at Mandel Hall on the University of Chicago campus, 1131 E. 57th St.
Each year, HPSD casts a Chicago VIP as the honorary Mother Ginger. This year, 5th Ward Ald. Leslie Hairston and Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Wallace Goode take on the role.
