Chicago State University's 20th Annual Gwendolyn Brooks Conference for Black Literature and Creative Writing features Nikki Giovanni
What: The Gwendolyn Brooks Center's annual tradition of hosting the most accomplished writers of the Black Diaspora.
Who: This year's conference features distinguished writers and artists such asNikki Giovanni, Haki R. Madhubuti, Angela Jackson, Staceyann Chin, John Fountain, Trudier Harris, R. Dwayne Betts, Malik Yusef and Maryemma Graham, among many others.
The theme of this year's conference, which honors its founder, is Builder of Positive Reality: A Celebration of the Lifelong Achievements of Dr. Haki R. Madhubuti.
When/Where: The 20th Annual Gwendolyn Brooks Conference for Black Literature and Creative Writing will be held Thursday, April 1, 2010— Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Chicago State University ( 95th Street and King Drive ) in the Cordell Reed Student Union Rotunda.
