Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has filmed a public-service announcement on behalf of The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization that helps LGBTQ youths, according to MTV.com . "It's something I've always been quite passionate about," Radcliffe said. "Because I grew up around gay men, it was always a natural thing to me. It was never something I ever gave a second thought to." Radcliffe added that there will soon be a Trevor Project iPhone app. Trained counselors are available 24/7 at 866-4-U-TREVOR ( 488-7386 ) .

Openly gay Internet gossip columnist Perez Hilton passed a lie-detector test In Touch magazine administered to him, the publication reported. Hilton claimed that embattled singer John Mayer told him that Mayer had oral sex with a man. Polygraph examiner John Grogan said, "We tested him several times, on the same questions, and he passed multiple times."

Pamela Anderson, Olympic gold medal-winning figure skater Evan Lysacek, reality-TV vet Kate Gosselin and actress Shannen Doherty are among the celebrities set to mambo on ABC's Dancing with the Stars starting March 22, according to MTV.com . Others competing on the show that gives its champion a mirror-ball trophy are The Insider's Niecy Nash; the most recent Bachelor, Jack Pavelka; astronaut Buzz Aldrin; British actor Aiden Turner; football player Chad Ochocinco; lead Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger; and sports reporter Erin Andrews.

Speaking of Dancing with the Stars, Apolo Anton Ohno, the Olympic speedskater who is the most decorated U.S. Winter Games athlete ever, said that gold meal-winning figure skater Evan Lysacek is the one to beat, according to People.com . Ohno—who won the show's trophy in 2007 with partner Julianne Hough—added that he thought contestant Pamela Anderson is too "top-heavy" to win.

Days before the March 7 airing of the Oscars, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences banned a nominee from attending for the first time ever, according to the Los Angeles Times. Nicolas Chartier, a producer of Best Picture candidate The Hurt Locker, was not allowed into the Kodak Theatre for the ceremony because he e-mailed a group of colleagues that included academy members and asked them to choose his film and "not the $500-million film," a reference to Avatar. Chartier apologized for his actions.

The March 3 episode of the TV show Law & Order: SVU featured Kathy Griffin as a lesbian activist—but did not show her kiss with SVU star Mariska Hargitay, according to Movieline.com . NBC had even released a clip of the same-sex smooch in advance, although the scene also allegedly contained Hargitay saying a line that some interpreted as being homophobic. Instead, the network aired Griffin attempting to kiss Hargitay, who spurns her advances.

Out actor Neil Patrick Harris will star in Sony Pictures' Smurfs movie, according to EW.com . Harris will play a soon-to-be father who will live among the blue people. The film—which will be directed by Raja Gosnell, who helmed Beverly Hills Chihuahua—is slated to start shooting in April.

Floridian Coco Montrese has been named Miss Gay America 2010—almost four months after the pageant was held in St. Louis, Mo., according to WatermarkOnline.com . Initially, Montrese was named first runner-up and Alyssa Edwards of Mesquite, Texas, was the winner. However, Edwards was stripped of her crown, allegedly because of business-related matters that conflicted with being Miss Gay America.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is responding after being accused of hitting her driver, Miodrag Mejdina. According to People.com, Campbell has denied doing anything wrong, saying, "I was accused of unacceptable behavior towards a driver in New York. I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past." Campbell—who has assaulted a housekeeper and two police officers in the past—added that Mejdina has actually apologized to her.

Sean Penn has said that he hoped people who criticized his recent trip to Haiti would die of "rectal cancer," according to an US Magazine item. Penn, who won an Oscar playing late gay politician Harvey Milk in the movie Milk, took 11 doctors to the earthquake-ravaged country and helped establish a relief organization. However, some critics have said that celebrities are using relief efforts to build their own images—and Penn responded by telling CBS News' Sunday Morning program, "You know, do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah. You know, but I'm not going to spend a lot of energy on it."

Roseanne Barr has blogged about Michael Bryan, Marie Osmond's 18-year-old son who recently committed suicide—and said that his sexual orientation played a factor, according to a SheWired.com item. Barr, who SheWired described as "dangerously unbalanced," wrote, in part, "marie osmonds poor gay son killed himself because he had been told how wrong and how sick he was every day of his life by his church and the people in it. Calling that 'depression' is a lie! ... I want her and all the gay kids in the world to know that they are just fine being gay and that they deserve love and respect instead of insults and rebuke!" Barr has since called Marie Osmond "strong and decent" but still has taken a hard line regarding how Mormons generally view gay people, according to RadarOnline.com .

Openly gay actor John Barrowman may be moving from the hit TV series Desperate Housewives to another popular show—Glee, according to BBCAmerica.com . Regarding Glee, the Torchwood star told the Daily Mirror, "I absolutely love the show. What would I play in it? I'm not sure what kind of character I'd like to play, maybe I could be a teacher, you know, another teacher who comes in and helps out." And as for Patrick Logan, his character on Desperate Housewives, Barrowman described him as "the most evil character they've ever introduced to the series."
