Logo TV presents Beautiful Daughters, an original documentary following a transgendered cast performing a special presentation of Eve Ensler's award-winning play, Vagina Monologues. The network will premiere the new documentary in honor of Valentine's Day, Feb. 14. However, the documentary actually airs Feb. 11, 8 p.m.
Beautiful Daughters looks at the lives of four transgender women involved with the casting, rehearsal and opening of Vagina Monologues, as rewritten for a transgender cast. Their experience is intertwined with a look into the lives of four trans women—Valerie, who supports her sick mother; Lynn, married and mentoring the younger generation of transgendered women; Leslie, looking for a new career; and Calpernia, an activist and filmmaker whose life was depicted in Showtime's Soldier's Girl. |
