Neither is model material; postures poor,
Shoulders too narrow, bellies too convex,
Faces unmemorable, undeveloped pecs,
None of the standard counterfeit allure.
And yet how beautiful their mating dance
As hand in hand they poke along the tide;
Shifting ahead, behind, then side by side,
Each ducks, in fun, the other's bold advance.
They join their knot of friends, the Asian boy
Hooping his white beloved's pliant frame,
Their eyes, their smiles, utterly absent shame,
Utterly free, brave, lovely, ripe with joy.
From scenes like this, gestures benign and small,
Creeds will collapse, and corporate prisons fall.
