CHICAGO, MAY 27, 2014 — Reflecting on hard-fought victories and battles still to be waged, shhh...OUT! Lakeside Pride Jazz Ensemble honors the 45th anniversary of Stonewall with "A Rainbow Rhapsody: Songs of Love and Liberation" at 7:30 p.m. on June 10 at Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted, Chicago.
Forty-five years after bullied patrons of the Stonewall Inn decided they weren't going to take it anymore, the band celebrates this powerful story of love, defiance and bravery through music. Concert selections include "Love Is Here to Stay" and "The Best Is Yet to Come" in a reaffirmation of solidarity and PRIDE as the LGBT community continues the long march toward equality. Additionally, audience members can grab a drink at our cash bar and buy a chance at some fabulous prizes in our Rest Note Raffle.
Tickets are $20, $12 for students and seniors, and are available online at www.lakesidepride.org or onsite at Center on Halsted, Hoover-Leppen Theatre, starting 30 minutes before the concert.
