The Chicago Area Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce will host its next business-to-business network meeting Aug. 9 at Bespoke Cuisine, 1358 W. Randolph, 7-9 a.m. Guest speaker Ian Bryan's topic will be 'Growing Your Business Through Community Oriented Marketing.' Fees range from $10-$20 and a continental breakfast will be provided. The Gerber/Hart Library will hold a reception for John Poling on Aug. 14, 1-3 p.m, at 1127 W. Granville. Poling is the author of the first LGBT history article to be published in Chicago History, the quarterly publication of the Chicago Historical Society. The Windy City Boys Troop will host the 2006 Great Lakes Puppy and Trainer Contest on Oct. 21-22 at Cell Block, 3702 N. Halsted.
