Legendary NBA player Dwyane Wade (who played with the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls) was officially inducted into the 2023 class of the Hall of Fame.
Wade and Dirk Nowitzki were among those enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts in a class that had 12 new inductees, per Deadspin.
Wade (who now co-owns the WNBA's Chicago Sky) won three NBA titles. Wade is also known as an LGBTQ+ ally, with he and wife Gabrielle Union being the parents of trans daughter Zaya.
Becky Hammon, who coaches the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces after a successful career as a player, was also inducted to the Hall of Fame. In her first season coaching the Aces, Hammon led Las Vegas to its first title in franchise history.
The 1976 U.S. Women's Olympic teamwhich won a silver medal and featured such players as Nancy Lieberman and Ann Meyerswas also inducted.
