Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Heritage Month will be celebrated with a series of events at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

This year's theme is "Queer Economics: The Costs of Homophobia and Heterosexism; The Benefits of Being Yourself." LGBTQ Heritage Month is organized by the Gender & Sexuality Center at UIC, which provides educational resources to combat prejudice and misunderstanding about issues related to gender and sexual identity.

Wednesday, Oct. 7

"Saving the World...One Filipino/a at a Time: A Conversation About Filipino American Psychology."
