Kama Sutra: The Musical, a show about a sexually frustrated couple and how they rekindle their lust for life ( and each other ) , makes its world premiere at Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont, on Sept. 7.
The musical, which runs through Nov. 2, was conceived by Grammy winner Terry Abrahamson and is directed by Arnie Saks, with music by Stephen Joseph.
The show centers around a thirtysomething married couple, Dick and Gina, and how their lackluster love life is revitalized by the mysterious arrival of the 1800-year-old creator of the Kama Sutra, Swami Comonawannagetonya. With 17 outrageous new songs, including Size Matters and Blame it On Cher, Kama Sutra: The Musical promises to evoke knowing grins and guffaws from people of every sexual orientation.
