Joey Mogul, author of Queer Injustice, to be honored

On Wednesday, June 18, at a luncheon at the Union League Club, Joey Mogul of the People's Law office and co-author of Queer Injustice will receive the prestigious Ann O'Brien Stevens Award from the Illinois Academy of Criminology.

Mary Powers, a Board Member of the Academy of Criminology and Founder of Citizen's Alert—the police watchdog group—will present the Award to Joey for the latter's success in persuading the United Nations Committee in Geneva, Switzerland to list Chicago as a torture city: a mission that lead to the focus on Commander Burge and others.

The event will be held at the Union League Club of Chicago, 65 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago.
