MILWAUKEE, WI - March 4, 2010 - Another good reason to wear your Sunday best will happen this June 13 as funny fashion maven Joan Rivers headlines PrideFest's final night on the Miller Lite Main Stage. And she wants to know, "Who are you wearing?"
In an interesting twist on headline entertainment, PrideFest has for the first time in years booked two comedic headliners. The move is an attempt to appease fans who expressed a desire for more than just musical acts.
"I'm excited for people to see the full schedule," says Kate Sherry PrideFest Communications Director, adding that, "we're ecstatic about our lineup. Comediennes Joan Rivers and Kathy Griffin are just ideal choices for festival-goers looking for a lot of laughs."
The compulsively frank and brutally honest Joan Rivers performs at PrideFest as a comedienne, but her talent and accomplishments extend far beyond comedy. Rivers' illustrious career includes the titles of actress, designer, screenwriter, host, and businesswoman. Making her return to E! Entertainment Television, she hosts the network's "Fashion Police" for the 2010 red carpet awards shows. Rivers even appeared with partner in fashion crime and daughter Melissa as celebrity contestants on "The Apprentice" where she emerged victorious as the winner of the reality show.
The world was introduced to Joan Rivers in 1968 on "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson, and three years later she made television history as the show's first guest host to fly solo. She went on to host her own talk shows, even picking up an Emmy and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Considered America's most accessible, authoritative and visible fashion spokesperson, Rivers continues to show her fashion know-how in the realms of antiques, fine art and vintage jewelry to name a few.
At this years Sundance and Slamdance Film Festivals, "Joan Rivers - A Piece of Work" a documentary and tribute to the outspoken LGBT supporter and comedian, was awarded the Documentary Editing Award, and put to rest any doubts that Rivers is truly the hardest working woman in show business.
Rivers' performance promises to be a night of glamorous gossip, celebrity criticisms and commentary that will prove the topic of conversations months after PrideFest ends. So there's only one trademark question that Rivers' has for PrideFest patrons, "Can we talk?"
PrideFest 2010 takes place June 11, 12 and 13. Festival gates open Friday from 3 p.m. to Midnight, and 12 p.m. to Midnight Saturday and Sunday.
