Sponsored by The Auxiliary of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare, the 19th American Craft Exposition (ACE) is hailed as one of the most sophisticated events of its kind and is consistently ranked among the top juried Craft Shows in the nation. This year's exposition will be held Aug. 21-24 at the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion on Northwestern University's Evanston Campus, 2311 Campus Drive in Evanston. The exposition assembles a remarkable group of 150 artists from across the country, including craftspeople featured in the White House Collection of American Crafts. This year's show will benefit breast and ovarian cancer research at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare.
The American Craft Exposition is an extraordinary presentation of fine craft and provides a unique chance to meet the craftspeople behind the work. Those attending will have a special opportunity this year to meet some of the craftspeople from the White House Collection on the show floor and talk with them about their work and its place of honor as an American treasure. ACE is the only exposition of its stature to be put on entirely by volunteers. Last year's Show raised over $350,000 for breast cancer research.
In addition to the traditional offerings of metal, glass, furniture, jewelry, ceramics, fiber decorative, fiber wearable, leather, wood, paper, mixed media and baskets that are on exhibit and for sale at the show, several special events, including lectures, demonstrations and interactive opportunities will be presented. Details will be released soon.
