Every Saturday the Evansville, Ind.-based Tri-State Alliance ( TSA ) Youth Group provides food and drink for 15-25 youth group members. Many of the TSA Youth Group members are working to survive on their own, since they do not receive support from their parents, according to a statement from Carol Ryan of the Indiana Justice Fund.
TSA is seeking donations of soft drinks and bottled water for its weekly youth group meetings and also wants volunteers to provide a full meal once a month to its youth group members. Supporters can either provide the financing for the monthly meals or the food itself. To arrange to make a donation, contact TSA President Wally Paynter at ( 812 ) 422-5951 or e-mail wallypaynter@aol.com .
The TSA Youth Group, which formed in 1998 in response to a series of hate crimes that occurred in Evansville, serves LGBTQ youth under the age of 21 in southwestern Indiana, northwestern Kentucky and southern Illinois.
